GODFATHER Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch returned to Ireland to support his brother Patsy in a row with younger criminals, it is believed.
It is understood the criminal is back home after being told his sibling had been “under pressure” from young thugs in the north inner city.

Although Patsy Hutch hasn’t received any threats from the young hoods, it’s understood he had been verbally abused in recent weeks.
Locals in the north inner city believe The Monk’s return will send a message to the young thugs to keep away from his family.
One told us: “All the talk in the north inner city is that Gerard is back to show support to Patsy.
“Patsy wouldn’t be held in the same regard as Gerard and it’s no surprise to hear that young criminals are shouting abuse at him because they have no fear.
“Gerard may be older now but he still has a reputation that he’s someone not to be crossed.
“Gerard is very loyal to his family and he will no doubt show support to Patsy and then return to Spain again.”
At present, Patsy Hutch continues to live in the north inner city.
Although the Kinahan cartel have targeted him on three separate occasions, he continues to walk around the streets of the capital.
A garda car has been stationed at the end of Champion’s Avenue, where his home address is, since the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel seven-and-a-half years ago.
He has also been keeping a low profile in recent months after his brother Gerry was found not guilty of Byrne’s murder in April.
In their ruling the three judges at the Special Criminal Court found that it was possible Patsy planned the Regency and that Gerry only got involved after the fact “particularly as his own life was at risk”.
Over the last ten weeks, Gerry Hutch has been staying at his apartment in Lanzarote after flying there on May 15.
It’s understood he may have returned to Dublin after flying to the north first.
Although there have been no official sightings of him since his return, Gardai remain on high alert.
The Garda Armed Support Unit has been told to respond immediately to any incident at his home in Clontarf.
INCREASED PATROLS
There was no answer at the property when the Irish Sun called there yesterday but vehicles associated with the family were parked outside.
Detectives in Clontarf Garda station have also been instructed to increase patrols in the area around his home.
Hutch returned to his home after his release from prison in April but also has access to other safe houses in the capital.
A return to Ireland is a huge risk for The Monk, although detectives believe it’s highly unlikely that an attempt will be made on his life since the threat against him has subsided in recent years.
But he could yet be detained on other charges, such as directing a criminal organisation.
Investigators quizzed him in Wheatfield Prison in relation to this days before his murder trial was due to begin last October.
There had been speculation that he might be held in custody as part of this separate investigation following his acquittal.
But garda hands were tied because the extradition warrant issued by a Spanish court that he was held under only concerned the murder charge which he was discharged from after he was found not guilty.
However, this expired after 90 days leaving officers free to arrest him after this time as part of any other investigation because it’s unlikely they’ll go through the extradition process in Spain again.
