ONE of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch’s nephews was found dead at his home today.
The body of Eddie Hutch Jr, who was in his 40s, was discovered at the house in Portland Place, north inner city Dublin early on Sunday.
It was reported that he had been ill for some time.
Eddie once won €33,000 on RTE’s Winning Streak, getting his younger brother Ross Hutch to spin the big wheel on his behalf.
Eddie’s cousin Gary Hutch was murdered in Spain in 2015 whilst another cousin, Gareth Hutch, was shot dead as he was getting into his car on North Cumberland Street in inner city Dublin.
Eddie’s father, Eddie Hutch Sr, was shot dead on February 8, 2016 on Poplar Row in Dublin three days after the Regency Hotel murder of David Byrne, which ignited the murderous Kinahan/Hutch feud.
Eddie Hutch Jr had a number of previous convictions for offences.
Gardai confirmed today that foul play is not suspected.
Gardai said in a statement: “Gardaí at Fitzgibbon (Street) were notified following the discovery of a body of a male in his late 40s in a residential property in (Portland Place) Dublin 1 earlier today, Sunday 19 May 2024.
“Foul play is not suspected, a report will be sent to the Coroner.”
